One person,
shipping directly.
I am Toby Kalkman. I build software in Lowestoft, Suffolk — some of it commissioned, some of it released, some of it running quietly for nobody but me. Kalkman Code is where all of that lives, whatever shape it takes.
Why there are three of them
Three businesses, kept apart on purpose. Not because it makes a tidy diagram, but because each one is aimed at a different person, and a business that tries to speak to everybody ends up speaking to nobody.
One customer might use two of the three, and that is fine. They stay separable regardless.
How I work
You deal with the person writing the code. Nothing is relayed through an account manager, and nothing is subcontracted out to someone you have not met.
The trade-off is honest: one person has a queue, and I would rather tell you the wait than take the booking and disappoint you later.
Which one you want
Kalkman Code
What I ship myself. Commissioned software, apps I release, private infrastructure, and one-off sites for a wedding or a memorial.
Kalkman Digital
Helping a business grow — a new website, complete brand design, SEO and search including AI visibility, or a ground-up review of the tech behind it.
kalkmandigital.co.uk →Kalkman Tech
Keeping it running, or teaching you — ongoing support for a business first, then computer help and lessons for everyone else.
kalkmantech.co.uk →Not sure which one you want?
One door to all three. Start there if you are not sure which of us you need. If you would rather be asked than guess, start there and it will send you to the right place.
kalkmangroup.co.uk →What I build with
React and Vite for applications, Swift for iPhone, and plain HTML where plain HTML is the right answer.
Node, Postgres and SQLite. Small, boring, well-understood pieces — because you may have to hire someone else to maintain it.
Docker, Cloudflare, backups that are tested by restoring them rather than by existing.
